Aurora-Willard L. Schabel, age 80, of Aurora, Wis., passed away Thursday, July 12, 2018, at St. Vincent Hospital, Green Bay, Wis.

He was born February 24, 1938, in Aurora, Wis., son of the late Maynard and Leona (Liddell) Schabel. Willard was a lifelong resident of Aurora and attended Kingsford High School. After serving in the United States Army, he returned to Aurora and worked in the logging business. Willard later worked as a mechanic for the Dodge Dealer in Iron Mountain and also at many area garages. He enjoyed walking, fishing, hunting and the outdoors.

Survivors include two sisters, Claire (George) Moser of Maryland and Sharon (Joseph) Lison of Wyoming; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. Also, a dear friend and neighbor Dan Giesen, Aurora, Wisc.

In addition to his parents, Willard was preceded in death by three brothers, James, Kenneth and Bruce Schabel; and two sisters, Evelyn Schabel and Dianna (Dwaine) Zahorik.

In accordance with Willard's wishes, private family services will be held.
