Florence: Walter G. Dzekute age 75, of 424 Hemlock Street, Kingsford died Monday June 7, 2004 at the V.A. Medical Center in Iron Mountain.
Walter was born on September 17, 1928 in Goodman, Wisconsin son of the late Peter and Gladys (Kindzierski) Dzekute.
Walter attended school in Goodman. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict. Walter married Joan Frydrych on April 7, 1956 at St. Stanislaus Kostka Catholic church in Armstrong Creek, Wisconsin. After being married they resided in Naperville, IL., Green Bay, WI., Florence, WI., before moving to Kingsford. Walter worked in construction and as a carpenter for himself for many years. He enjoyed car racing, gardening, woodworking and family.
Walter is survived by his loving wife of over 48yrs Joan. Three sons, Brian (Julie) Dzekute, Terry (Patti) Dzekute of Wrightstown, WI., Scott (Amy) Dzekute of Madison, WI. One daughter Maxine (Tom) Solboe of DePere, WI., Two brothers, Larry (Gloria) Dzekute of Fence, WI, Robert (Mary Ann) Dzekute of Oak Creek, WI., Two sisters, Bernadette Wojdyla of Iron Mountain, Dorothy Wilken of Reminghton, Indiana. Seven grandchildren, Jonathen, Katherine, Jennifer, Craig, Kimberly, Christopher and Ian.
Visitation will be Thursday June 10, 2004 from 9-11AM at St. Stanislaus Kostka Catholic Church in Armstrong Creek, Wisconsin. The Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday 11AM at St. Stanislaus Kostka Catholic Church. Fr. Edward Nowakowski will officiate. Burial will be in Fence, Cemetery in Fence, Wisconsin.
