Walter E. Andreini, 80, of Iron Mountain, Michigan, passed away unexpectedly, Thursday, November 15, 2007, in Branson, Missouri while on his way to his winter home in Jacksonville, Florida.
He was born on June 18, 1927, in Iron Mountain, son of the late Louis and Mary Andreini. Walter graduated from Iron Mountain High School and Marquette University, Milwaukee with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business.
Walter married Elda May Loia of Iron River, Mich. on July 6, 1957, and they made their home in Iron Mountain. They recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with their family.
He served in the US Navy. Walter was the owner of Andreini's Appliance and Furnitureland for over 38 years. He was on the Senior Citizen Council, was a member of the City Council and also a member of the Elk's Lodge. Walter was a member of St. Mary and St. Joseph Catholic Church.
Walter enjoyed working in his yard. He enjoyed being with his grandchildren boating, skiing and watching their sporting events. He looked forward to spending time with his coffee buddies. Walter and his wife enjoyed traveling.
Survivors include his loving wife of 50 years, Elda; two sons, Dr. Jeffrey (Sandra), Oshkosh, Wis., Todd (Charlotte),Cary, N.C.; son-in-law, Gerald Agnew, Waukesha, Wis.; sister, Marcene Fuse, Iron Mountain; brother, Gerald (Patricia), Iron Mountain; brother-in-law, Nello, Chicago, Ill.; sister-in-law, Nancy (Bruno) Peloso, Iron River, Mich.; grandchildren, (Jeffrey and Sandra), Cassandra, Allyson, Amanda, Adriana Andreini; (Todd and Charlotte), Cami, Tony and Kaitlyn Andreini; (Gerald), Ryan, Justin and Tyler Agnew; many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Walter was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Susan J. (Andreini) Agnew; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Rosa and Angelo Loia; and brother-in-law, Alfonse Fuse.
Visitation will be Tuesday, November 20, 2007, from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. at Jacobs Funeral Home, Iron Mountain. Prayers will be offered 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, at the funeral home. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated 12:00 p.m. Tuesday, at St. Mary & St. Joseph Catholic Church, Iron Mountain. Rev. Daniel S. Zaloga will officiate. Burial will be in Cemetery Park, Iron Mountain with military rites accorded.
A memorial will be established his memory.
