Iron Mountain- Walter W Anderson, 91, of Lake Linden, Mich., passed away Thursday, November 11, 2021, at Dickinson County Healthcare System, Iron Mountain, Mich. He was born April 18, 1930, in Hancock, Mich., son of the late Arvid and Ida (Saviluoto) Anderson. Walter grew up and attended school in Hancock. After his education, he proudly served in the United States Navy until his honorable discharge. Walter returned back to Hancock and married Mary Ann Bonini on January 5, 1951. Walter worked as an electrician for the Calumet & Hecla Mining Company and Michigan Technological University. Survivors include his loving wife, Mary Ann Anderson; one son, Walter J. (Kris) Anderson; one daughter, Patty. (Jim) Rose; four grandchildren, Jennifer (Greg) Webb, Sara (Shawn) Tibbits, Megan (Andy) Buck, and Libby (Tommy) Hersch; five great-grandchildren, Jack, Lily, and Max Buck and Tyler and Trevor Tibbits; one brother, Arne Anderson; one sister, Ruth (Bill) Lucier and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Walter was preceded in death by four brothers, Paul, Carl, Harold, and Donald Anderson; and by four sisters, Irene Blunt, Sarah Jennings, Esther Butler, and Ellen Kaiponen. A celebration of life for Walter will take place on Monday, December 6, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. EST at the Calumet United Methodist Church, Calumet, Mich.
