Virla J. Miller, 83, of Crystal Falls, Michigan, peacefully passed away on Monday, August 26, 2024, at the Iron County Medical Care Facility in Crystal Falls, Michigan.
Born on December 21, 1940, in Sagola, Michigan, Virla was the beloved daughter of Wilhelm and Ruby (Walker) Wierschke. She spent her early years in Polar, Wisconsin, where she dedicated herself to caring for her mother at home. After Ruby's passing, Virla moved to Amasa, Michigan, to live with her brother. It was there she met and married Robert Jacobson Sr., with whom she had four children before they later parted ways. Virla then found love again with Delbert "Ed" Miller. Together, they made homes in Georgia, Iron River, and Amasa before eventually returning to Georgia. After Ed's passing, Virla moved back to Amasa, where she found joy in her cherished hobby farm, caring for her beloved goats, chickens, and other animals.
Virla is survived by her two sons, Robert Jacobson and William "Bill" (Sue) Jacobson of Amasa, Michigan; her two daughters, Virginia "Ginny" (Kenny) Sallee of New Mexico and Darcie Pitts (Wm. "Corey") of Amasa, Michigan; her grandchildren, Courtney (Brandon), Brandon, Samantha, Nathan, Byron, Daisy, Tracie (Van), Erik, Jason, and Jesse (Tanya); and her great-grandchildren, Lexi, Carson, Jaxon, Jacob, Cooper, and Violet.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Wilhelm and Ruby Wierschke; her husband, Ed Miller; and her two brothers, Gilbert and Glenn Wierschke.
In accordance with Virla's wishes, a private celebration of her life will be held.
