Virginia (Cookie) Koller, 62, of Iron Mountain, lost her courageous four year battle with cancer Saturday, June 23, 2007, at Manorcare Health Services, Kingsford.
She was born January 29, 1945, in Iron Mountain, daughter of the late Fred and Mary (Schinderle) Koller. She was a lifelong resident of the area and earned her high school diploma from Iron Mountain High School. Virginia obtained her CNA certificate in 1983, and worked as a homecare aid until her illness. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Iron Mountain.
Virginia had an extensive doll collection and enjoyed crossword puzzles, reading, taking care of her house plants, and playing smear.
She is survived by one daughter, Darla (Doug) Beuerman, Chicago, Ill.; two grandsons, Alex, Derrick; two brothers, Donald and Fred Koller, both of Kingsford; one sister, Audrey (Richard) Dallapiazza, Spread Eagle, Wis.; special friend, Jim Barribeau, Iron Mountain; special aunt, Gert Koller, Iron Mountain; close friends, Rudy Rihtarshich, Iron Mountain, Sue Richtig, Kingsford, Jude Lehto, Iron Mountain; her beloved cat, Gremlin; uncle, aunts, many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Per Virginia's wishes, there will be no visitation.
