Virginia M. Hallgren, 68, of Homestead, Wis., passed away Monday, March 14, 2011, at her sister's home, Green Bay, surrounded by her family.
She was born on May 3, 1942, in Niagara, daughter of the late Edward and Ella (Wagner) Gordon. Virginia grew up in Niagara and graduated from Niagara High School, Class of 1960. She married Wayne Hallgren in Niagara. He preceded her in death in 1980. Virginia and Wayne resided in Niagara until moving to Homestead in 1972, where they worked on the family dairy farm.
Virginia loved her pets. She enjoyed many hobbies including yard work, crafts, and socializing with family and friends.
She is survived by two sons, Scott (Tracy) Hallgren, Niagara, Shawn (Erica) Hallgren, Homestead; one daughter, Laura Hieb, Green Bay; two brothers, Edward (Linda) Gordon, Niagara, Dale (Kathy) Gordon, Edmund, Okla.; three sisters, Lorraine Axenrod, Niagara, Susan Lundin, Green Bay, Sally (Reginald) Phillips, Niagara; seven grandchildren, Elizabeth, Rebecca, and Kathryn Hieb, Hillary and Marcus Hallgren, Julia and Emily Hallgren; numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Friday, March 18, 2011, from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the Jacobs Funeral Home, Niagara Chapel. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. Rev. Karl Utzat will officiate. Burial will be in Niagara Cemetery, Niagara.
