Florence: Virgil E. Luckow, age 72, of Florence, Wisconsin, went to be with the Lord, Wednesday, October 1, 2003, at Dickinson County Healthcare System of Iron Mountain. Virgil was born April 30, 1931, in Florence, Wisconsin, son of the late August and Jennie (Johnson) Luckow. Virgil was a life long resident of Florence, and graduated from Florence High School. He worked as a logger in Florence County and also worked for the Florence Water and Light. All the time he was keeping his family farm running. He was known for his fresh vegetable and produce stand "Virgil's Veggies", which he owned and operated in Florence. He just loved to tend to his vegetable garden and have fresh produce to sell. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing. He married the former Ann Bicigo on November 12, 1955. She currently resides in Iron Mountain. He is survived by five daughters Connie (Wayne) Rouleau of Iron Mountain, Michigan, Kathy (David) Miller of Crystal Falls, Michigan, Julie Weiss of Appleton, Wisconsin, Sherry (Lee) Waldrep of University Park, Maryland, Sally (Dan) Hallfrisch of Cloquet, Minnesota, one brother Russell (Edna) Luckow of Appleton, Wisconsin, one sister Hazel (Wally) Johnson of Lombard, Illinois, seven granddaughters Jessica, Shannon, Susan, Nicole, and special to his heart triplets: Cassidy, Karli, and Anslie, one grandson Joshua, and many cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his dad, August Luckow, on September 8, 1967, and his mother, Jennie Luckow on July 13, 1992. Visitation will be Saturday, October 4, 2003, from 2 to 3 P.M. at Jacobs-Lundholm Funeral Home in Florence, Wisconsin. Funeral services will be Saturday at 3:00P.M. at Jacobs-Lundholm Funeral Home. Pastor Doug Johnson will officiate.
