Viola Beckstrom, 99, of Crystal Falls, Mich., passed away Monday, January 18, 2010, at Northstar Health System, Iron River, Mich. She was born April 12, 1910, in Crystal Falls, daughter of the late Eric and Edla (Rosengren) Johnson. On April 19, 1947, she married Leonard Beckstrom; he preceded her in death on April 20, 1974. Viola grew up in Crystal Falls and graduated from Crystal Falls High School, Class of 1928, and then Business College. Following her marriage she lived in Spread Eagle, Wis. for 28 years before moving back to Crystal Falls in 1974. She worked for the Kingsford Chemical Company, Wittock Supply, and the Iron County Courthouse. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband; six sisters, Gladys Noyes, Eve Carlson, Hildegard DelSanto, Olive Johnson, Thelma Blakely, Alice Mann; nieces, nephews, and cousins. A graveside service will be held in the spring at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery, Crystal Falls.
