Obituary

Vienna L. Gallmore, 98, of Crystal Falls, Mich. passed away Monday, February 16, 2009 at the Iron County Medical Care Facility in Crystal Falls. She was born April 5, 1910, in New Swaney, Michigan, daughter of the late Joel and Anna (Korkola) Anderson. She married Charles A. Gallmore in Detroit, Mich., November 10, 1934. He preceded her in death on March 10, 1948. Her family moved to Crystal Falls in 1909, from National Mine and she attended Crystal Falls High School. Vienna worked at the Crystal Falls school for 17 years for the hot lunch program. She was a member of M.A.R.S.P., Louma Cribbage League, and United Lutheran Church. Vienna is survived by one daughter, Alyce (John) Fleishman, Loudon, Tenn.; one sister, Pauline Martin, Crystal Falls; two granddaughters, Alyce (Curnow) Griffioen, Beth (Curnow) Payne; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Peggy Curnow; five sisters, Gertrude Langrill, Silvia Anderson, Elizabeth Laine, Lillian Willits, Hilma Handell; five brothers, Reino, Arne, Joe, Bill, and Paul Anderson. Visitation will be Saturday, May 9, 2009, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at United Lutheran Church, Crystal Falls. The funeral service will be Saturday, 11:00 a.m. at the church. Rev. Michael Laakko will officiate. Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery, Crystal Falls.
