Vicki L. Hering, 51, of Florence, passed away Sunday, May 11, 2014, at her home.
She was born May 23, 1962, in Milwaukee, Wisc., daughter of the late Roger and Judy (Mutz) Conklin. Vicki grew up in Beecher, Wisc. and graduated from Pembine High School. She worked for Khoury Brothers Unfinished Furniture, as a manager, for 25 years until its closing. Vicki later went to work for the U.S. Postal Service as a rural mail carrier from 2011, to December of 2013. She married Troye Hering on June 25, 1994, in Tipler, Wisc.
Vicki volunteered for the Florence County Rescue Squad for a short period of time. She enjoyed nature and all the outdoors had to offer. Vicki started working out and lifting weights and even joined the Strongman Contest in Crystal Falls, Mich. at Fungus Fest. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her daughter Jacqueline.
She is survived by her husband of 20 years, Troye; one daughter, Jacqueline Hering, Florence; her father-in-law, Johannas Hering, Florence; her sister-in-law, Marlayn Hering, Florence; two brothers, Roger Conklin, Beecher and Brian Conklin, Green Bay, Wisc.; Aunt Darlene (Dick) Gehling,Dunbar and many other aunts and uncles.
Visitation will be Thursday, May 15, 2014, from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Jacobs-Lundholm Funeral Home, Florence. A Celebration of Life Service will be held 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
