Iron Mountain: Thomas F. Becco age 71, of Moon Lake passed away Friday, June, 30, 2006, at his home.
Tom was born on August 22, 1934, in Iron Mountain, son of the late Frank and Matilda (Baldrica) Becco.
Tom grew up in Iron Mountain and graduated from Iron Mountain High School in 1952. He served in the US Army from 1957 until 1959. Tom married Darlene Duford on April 20, 1963, at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Iron Mountain. She preceded him in death on October 7, 1997.
Tom worked, along with his father Frank, at Becco's Market in Iron Mountain from the age of 14. Frank passed away in December of 1991. Tom continued to operate the store up until 2005 at which time he licensed his sausage recipe to be sold on his behalf. The sausage which many have enjoyed for years still is available in many of the area markets.
He was an active member of the Paisano Club and the Immaculate Conception Church.
Tom is survived by one son, James (Robbin) Becco of Eagle, Wis; one daughter Dawn (Dave) Aho of Waukesha, Wis; two sisters Judy (Wayne) Schillerstrom of Breitung Twp. and Dianne (David) Pietruszynski of Erin, Wis; six grandchildren, twins Josh and Jacob Becco, Cassidy Becco, Christopher, Victoria and Nicholas Aho; and six nephews, Randy, Ricky and Rob Schillerstrom, Brian, Brandon and Erik Pietruszynski
Tom was preceded by his parents and his wife Darlene.
Visitation will be Wednesday, July 5, 2006, from 9:00-11:00a.m. at the Jacobs Funeral Home in Iron Mountain. Prayers will be recited Wednesday, 11:00a.m. at the funeral home. the Funeral Mass will be Wednesday, 11:30a.m. at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Iron Mountain. Msgr. James Kaczmarek will officiate. Burial will be in Cemetery Park in Iron Mountain.
Pallbearers will be, Joseph Negro, Ray Person, Michael Caruso, Tom Tomasi, Erik Pietruszynski.
