Crystal Falls-Susan E. "Ailie" (Leppiaho) Halls, age 95, of Crystal Falls, Mich., passed away Saturday, August 25, 2018, at Christian Park Health Care Center, Escanaba, Mich.

She was born June 25, 1923, in Crystal Falls, Mich., daughter of the late John and Hilma (Norback) Leppiaho. Ailie spent most of her life in Chicago, Ill., retiring to Hot Springs, Ark. She moved back to Crystal Falls in 2005.

Survivors include one son, Bernard J. Halls, Michigan; two daughters, Rhonda (John) Scheiderich, Minnesota and Roxanne Halls, Crystal Falls, Mich.; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Ailie was preceded in death by her husband, Bernard Halls and thirteen siblings.

Visitation will take place Saturday, September 1, 2018 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at United Lutheran Church, Crystal Falls, Mich. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at the church. Pastor Avery Carr will officiate. Burial will take place in Diamond Lake Cemetery, Mundelein, Ill.

Memorials to the Northwoods Animal Shelter in Ailie's memory have been suggested.
