Steve J. Machalk, 90, of Hermansville, died Tuesday, November 13th, 2012, at Pinecrest Caring Community in Powers, MI. He along with his identical twin brother, Mike, was born April 29, 1922, in Hermansville, to the late Nick and Draga Machalk. Steve graduated from Hermansville High School, Class of 1940. On August 23, 1943, he married the love of his life LaVergne Jezewski at Saint Mary's Church in Hermansville. Steve worked and lived all of his life in Hermansville. He was a great athlete and excelled in basketball as well as baseball (pitching), playing both well into his late thirties. Steve was an avid Packer as well as a Yankee fan, following both teams his entire life. He is survived by his wife of 69 years LaVergne; his only boy, Kim Machalk; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Steve will be sorely missed by all that knew and loved him. A Memorial Mass will be held at a later date. Burial will be in Meyer Township Cemetery.
