Florence- Stephen R. "Steve" Bigalke, 66, of Florence, Wis., passed away Wednesday, June 23, 2021, at his home. He was born February 7, 1955, in Chicago, Illinois, son of Richard and Anne (Sticker) Bigalke. Steve grew up in Chicago until moving to Florence, where he graduated from Florence High School, class of 1973. He went on to receive a certificate in autobody from Northwest Technical College. Steve married Jean Witynski on June 20, 1981, in Florence, recently celebrating their 40th anniversary. He worked for Town and Country Ford in the body shop and later owned United Automotive Autobody in Florence for 30 years, retiring in 2017. His whole family drove Ford's and worked for Ford dealers in Chicago. Steve was Ford through and through. He enjoyed race cars, stock car racing, winter camping, hunting, the outdoors, especially Pine River, and time spent with his family, especially his special granddaughter, Kaitlynn. He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Jean Bigalke; one son, Bradley (Casey) Bigalke, Iron River, Mich.; one daughter Lynnzie (Jeffrey) White, Florence, Wis.; his father, Richard Bigalke, Florence, Wis.; two brothers, David (Jody) Bigalke, Niagara, Wis., and Christopher (Debbie) Bigalke, Florence, Wis.; one special granddaughter, Kaitlynn Davis; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles. Steve was preceded in death by his mother, Anne Bigalke, and two grandchildren, Luke and Nathan.
