Obituary

Stanley A. Neargarth, age 23, of Niagara, Wisconsin, passed away Sunday, December 10, 2006, as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident in Harrison County, Mississippi. He was born January 4, 1983, in Neenah, Wis., son of Joe and Sandy (Jankowski) Neargarth. He lived in Rhinelander, Wis., Pembine, Wis., and Iron Mountain, Mich., before moving to Niagara in 1993. As a young boy, he worked along with his father, learning the carpentry trade. Stanley graduated in 2001 from Niagara High School. After school, Stanley began to travel with several bands including: Toby Keith, Brooks & Dunn, and Waylon Jennings working security, as a stage hand, and a lighting technician. After a year and a half, he moved back to Niagara and worked with the family wood shop and other carpentry jobs. In September 2005, when Hurricane Katrina hit, Stanley, along with his father and brother, Levi, moved to Gulf Port, Miss. They have been helping remodel and rebuild the area since then. Stanley enjoyed boating, fishing, snowmobiling, four-wheeling, and go-carting. Stanley is survived by his parents, Joe and Sandy Neargarth, Niagara, Wis.; one sister, Sammi Neargarth, Niagara, Wis.; maternal grandparents, Stanley (Jolyne) Jankowski, Rhinelander, Wis.; four uncles, James (Debra) Jankowski, Escanaba, Mich., Earl ( Mary) Neargarth, Blue Springs, Mo., Robert (Kay) Neargarth, Ingleside, Ill., Bob Wood, Crivitz, Wis.; three aunts, Fran Wood, Crivitz, Wis., Meg (Wayne) Duris, Milwaukee, Wis., Doris Neargarth, Marinette, Wis.; one step-uncle, Robert (Alexandra) Jeka, Chesterton, Ind.; and three step-aunts, Donna Ovanek, Merrillville, Ind., Vicki (David) Ruder, Merrillville, Ind., Toni (Tom) Christian, Sagola, Mich.; and several cousins. Stanley was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Levi (Hulda) Neargarth and maternal grandmother, Alice Fatla Jankowski. Visitation will be Saturday, December 16, 2006, from 9:30 am until 12:00 pm at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Niagara, Wisconsin. The funeral mass will be held at 12:00 pm at the church, Fr. Michael Betley will officiate. Burial will be in the Niagara Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established in Stanley's memory.
