Spencer L. McElroy, 75, of Florence, Wis., formerly of Hales Corners, passed away in Iron Mountain, Mich. on September 30, 2011. Spencer was retired owner of Hales Corners Heating and Air Conditioning. After retirement, he enjoyed riding ATVs and served on the Board of the Wisconsin ATV Association. He was instrumental in developing the beautiful ATV trail we now have in Wisconsin. He was a US Army veteran and loved hunting and the great outdoors. Spencer is survived by his mother, Dorothy McElroy; children, Carrie (Patrick Peterson) McElroy, Kevin (Wayne White) McElroy; and daughters by marriage Roxanne (Stephen) Peterson, the late Rochelle (Dan) Engel, Rhonda (Ken) Frank, and Renee (Michael) Leben; three grandchildren, Amanda, Eli, and Kai; one great-granddaughter, Ashlynn; two sisters, Barbara (George) Shultis, Priscilla (Robert) Dethloff; and brother Jeffery (Theresa) McElroy. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, Judy's many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 36 years, Judy (nee Krisler) and his father, Spencer W. McElroy. Visitation will be Friday, October 28, 2011, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Schmidt & Bartelt Funeral Home, Wauwatosa, Wis. The memorial service will be held 6:00 p.m., Friday at the funeral home.
