Shirley M. Leffler, age 77, of Florence, Wisconsin, died Sunday, August 15, 2004 at Dickinson County Memorial Hospital in Iron Mountain.
Shirley was born on February 20, 1927 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, daughter of the late Alfred and Sarah "Bunny"(Tuckwell) Schlanert
Shirley lived in Milwaukee, Wis. and attended school there. She moved to Florence, Wis. when she was 23 years old. Shirley married Paul Leffler on April 3, 1948. He preceded her in death on June 2, 2002. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Florence, Wisconsin.
Shirley enjoyed many hobbies including sewing, knitting, and especially baby-sitting for her family and many others in the neighborhood.
Shirley is survived by six sons, Richard (Paula), Don (Beanie), Dan, Tim, Terry (Pam), and Doug (Joann) Leffler, all of Florence, Wisconsin; four daughters, Pat (Mark) Spencer of Aragon, Wisconsin; Paula (Donald) Vassar of Florence, Wisconsin; Kathy Leffler of Florence, Wisconsin, and Laurie Baker, also of Florence, Wisconsin; one sister-in-law, Ceil Leffler of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; 25 grand children; 3 great-grandsons and many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents and her husband, Shirley is preceded in death by one daughter, Francy Leffler and one son-in-law, Andy Spencer.
Private family visitation and funeral services will be held. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery in Commonwealth, Wisconsin. Sr. Marla Clercx will officiate the committal service.
