Shirley J. Blome, 84, of Crystal Falls, passed away Tuesday, May 6, 2014, at Northstar Health Services, Iron River, Mich. She was born July 15, 1929, in Crystal Falls, daughter of the late Leo and Lucile (Langford) Nau. Shirley married August F. Blome on September 10, 1948, at Maple Grove Ranch, Florence, Wis. He preceded her in death on March 13, 2009. She along with her husband lived in many areas of the Midwest before finally making their home in Cheboygan, Mich. In 1986, they moved to Crystal Falls where they enjoyed their retirement. Shirley enjoyed watching many species of birds, turkeys and deer that roamed in her yard, flowers, her flower garden, ceramics and spending time with her family and friends. Shirley will be sadly missed by one son, Frank Blome, Crystal Falls; three daughters, Barbara (Mike Delbridge) Anderson, Crystal Falls, Kitty (Dennis) Brozak, Crystal Falls and Dianne (Roger) Griswold, Iron Mountain; one brother, Franklin (Nancy) Nau, Crystal Falls; one sister, Patricia (Ron) Wloszczynski, Fortune Lake, Crystal Falls; seven grandchildren, Jeffrey (Melissa Marcell) Anderson, Brian Brozak, Jennifer (Steve) Latowski, Janese (Brian Pratt) Blome, Tamara (Gordon Davis) Blome, Tarra (Ryan Conery) Griswold, Tiffany Griswold; several great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband August, Shirley was preceded in death by one brother, John Nau. In accordance with Shirley's wishes private family services and visitation will be held. Pastor Doug Johnson will officiate. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Florence.
