Shelley J. Liljequist, 67, of Kingsford, Mich., passed away Monday, October 17, 2022, at her home after a long, courageous battle with Alzheimer's.

She was born February 5, 1955, in Norway, Mich., daughter of the late Eddie and Irene (Freeman) Hayes. Shelley was a lifelong resident of the Kingsford area and a graduate of Kingsford High School. She worked at Dickinson County Hospital as a material manager for over 25 years.

As a young girl, Shelley enjoyed spending time with her horses. She also enjoyed spending time with her family and helping others.

She was preceded in death by her parents. Survivors include one son, Kyle Liljequist, Iron Mountain, Mich.; one daughter, Lola (Matt) McKindles, Winter Haven, Florida; and one brother, Patrick Hayes, Kingsford, Mich.

Visitation will be held Friday November 4, 2022, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the Jacobs Funeral Home, Iron Mountain Mich. A celebration of life will follow at 11:00 a.m.at the funeral home.
