Crystal Falls- Sheila M. Hicks, 68, of Crystal Falls, Mich., passed away Sunday, October 2, 2022, at her home.

She was born November 19, 1953, in Crystal Falls, Mich., daughter of the late Howard and Helen (Perry) McKinney. At the age of 3, she moved with her family to Chicago for 9 years and in 1967 to Kalamazoo, Mich. where she resided for the next 30 years. Sheila worked as a purchasing agent for a nonprofit health industry for 23 years, retiring in 2016 and moving to Crystal Falls.

She enjoyed gardening, crafts, hiking, snowshoeing, and Harley riding.

Survivors include her son, David Hicks; one brother, Bill Rounsville; and her significant other, David Ponchaud, all of Crystal Falls, Mich.; and her dog, Miss Tilly.

In addition to her parents, Sheila was preceded in death by her husband, David A. Hicks.

Visitation will be Saturday, May 20, 2023, from 12:00 noon until 1:00 p.m. at the Jacobs-Plowe Funeral Home, Crystal Falls, Mich. A celebration of life will take place at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery, Crystal Falls, Mich.
