Sheila M. Dagostino, 78, of Commonwealth, Wis., passed away Sunday, April 8, 2007, at Dickinson County Memorial Hospital, Iron Mountain, Mich.
She was born March 1, 1929, in Florence, Wis., daughter of the late Dr. Otto and Lucille (Budzak) Dumke. She graduated from Florence High School in 1947, and went on to work at Northwestern Mutual Insurance in Milwaukee, Wis.
Sheila married Ernest Dagostino October 27, 1956, in Spread Eagle, Wis. She worked for the Volta Factory, Florence. She was also the Town of Commonwealth Clerk for many years and served as the sexton for Commonwealth Cemetery for over 45 years, working up to the time of her death. She was a lifelong member of the First Presbyterian Church, Florence. During her membership at the church, she served on both the Boards as an Elder and Deacon.
She enjoyed reading, making maple syrup, and doing genealogy work for herself and for others. Sheila loved spending time with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and family.
Survivors include her husband, Ernest; two sons, Mark (Judy) Dagostino, Matt (Marion) Dagostino, Commonwealth; one daughter, Debra (Peter) DeMuri, Commonwealth; two sisters, Alice (Chet) Granica, Florence, Roma (Tony) Bogard, Palm Springs, Calif.; five grandchildren, DeAnna (Troy) Kassens, Mukwonago, Wis., Jeffrey (Kit) DeMuri, Kingsford, Mich., Vincent, Gena, and Alex Dagostino; three great-grandchildren, Travis and Michael Kassens, Dominic DeMuri; many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, Sheila was preceded in death by one sister, Edith Bomberg, and two brothers, Dale and Ralph "Doc" Dumke.
Visitation will be Wednesday, April 11, 2007, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, at Jacobs-Lundholm Funeral Home, Florence, and Thursday, April 12, 2007, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, at the First Presbyterian Church, Florence. The funeral service will follow at 11:00 AM at the church. Pastor Douglas Johnson will officiate. Burial will follow in Commonwealth Cemetery.
