Iron Mountain-Sharon J. Alden, 78, of Iron Mountain, Mich., passed away Thursday, March 1, 2018, at Pinecrest Nursing Home, Powers, Mich.

She was born August 18, 1939, in Cudahy, Wis., daughter of the late Joseph and Faith (Johnson) Couey. Sharon grew up in Cudahy and Milwaukee. She was united in marriage to Eugene "Gene" Alden on December 8, 1956, in South Milwaukee. Together they lived and raised their family in Marenisco, Mich. before moving to Iron Mountain in 1962.

Sharon loved playing cards, going on walks, and most especially spending time with her family.

Survivors include her husband, Gene; five daughters, Karen Gaffney, Susie Flesch, Sandy Klahn, Patsy "Patty" (David) Studer and Bonnie Alden, all of Iron Mountain; two sisters, Dorie (Lee) and Jayne; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Sharon was preceded in death by one brother, Bob Couey; and three sisters, Patsy, Audrey and Nancy.

In accordance with Sharon's wishes, private family services will be held.
