Sandra Kay (Tuer) Armbrust, 68, Vulcan, passed away unexpectedly at home Saturday, September 14, 2013. She was born June 29, 1945, in Aurora, IL, daughter of the late Edwin and Ruth (Abel) Tuer. Sandra married Burton Armbrust in 1965, relocating to Vulcan in 1969.
She is survived by five sons, Burton, Edwin (Maira), Raymond, Phillip (Ida) and Joseph (Billie Jean); three daughters, Teresa (Donny), Christine and Laura; one sister, Lorraine Dishroon, Georgia; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Sandra loved and enjoyed spending time with her family. She had many hobbies including reading, gardening, crocheting, knitting and ceramics. She had an avid love for animals and nature; enjoying bird watching, camping and scenic drives.
Visitation will be Thursday, September 26, 2013, from 8:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at St. Barbara's Catholic Church, Vulcan. The Memorial Mass will be celebrated Thursday, 10:00 a.m. at the church. Rev. Fr. Timothy Ekaitis will officiate. Burial will be in Cemetery Park, Iron Mountain.
