CRYSTAL FALLS, Mich. – Ruth E. Cleeves, 84, of Iron River, passed away Thursday, March 17, 2016, at Aspirus Iron River Hospital. She was born March 1, 1932, in Iron River, Mich. daughter of the late Clyde and Caroline (Finnegan) Berlin. Ruth grew up in Iron River and graduated from Iron River High School, Class of 1950. She married Robert Cleeves and he preceded her in death in 2006. Ruth and Robert moved to Lansing, Mich. where she worked for the United States Postal Service sorting mail. In 1990, Robert retired and they moved back to Iron River. She was a member of the Iron River Bible Church; she enjoyed cooking and traveling. Ruth is survived by one sister, Beulah Ingram of Nelma, Wis.; two grandchildren, Emily Cleeves and Justin Cleeves, both of Lansing. In addition to her parents and her husband Robert she was preceded in death by one son, Gary Cleeves; one brother, Larry Berlin and one sister, Karen King. In accordance with Ruth's wishes private family services will be held. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery in the spring.
