Ruth Corey Caruso, 87, of Kingsford, Mich., passed away Friday, May 21, 2010, at ManorCare Health Services, Kingsford.
She was born April 6, 1923, in Iron Mountain, daughter of the late Alvin and Anna (Clark) Corey. Ruth attended Breitung Township Schools and graduated from Kingsford High School, Class of 1940. She married Tony Caruso on October 23, 1948, at the Immaculate Conception Rectory, Father Louis Brackett officiated. Tony preceded Ruth in death on May 3, 1999.
Ruth worked for 35 years at various Iron Mountain stores and offices and retired from Franks Chiropractic in 1975. She was a member of the Balsam Street Christian Church, Oak Crest Golf Club, and volunteered for the American Red Cross, the VA Medical Center, Dickinson County Memorial Hospital, and the Red Cross Blood Bank.
She enjoyed traveling, walking, and golf. Ruth and Tony spent their 23 years of retirement winters in Florida, California, and Arizona.
Ruth is survived by a sister, Carol Comstock, Minn.; four nieces, Joanne Schetter, Iron Mountain, Sharon (Gary) Clifford, Karen (Ronald) Gendron, both of Norway, Mich., Ann (Steve) Schneider, New Jersey; three nephews, Donald (Nancy) Antonetti, Iron Mountain, Mark (Sharon) Peters, Minn., Mike (Laurie) Caruso; many great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Maxine; and a brother, Irving.

Visitation will be Monday, May 24, 2010, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Jacobs Funeral Homes, Iron Mountain. The memorial service will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, at the funeral home. Celebrant Larry Neargarth will officiate. Burial will be in Cemetery Park, Iron Mountain.
