Florence- Ruth B. Callow, 92, of Florence, Wis., passed away Monday, August 10, 2020, at Florence Health Services, Florence, Wis. She was born August 20, 1927, in Elmhurst, Ill., daughter of the late Ernest and Erna (Jurgens) Lorenz. Ruth grew up in Elmhurst and graduated from York Community High School in Elmhurst. She was united in marriage to James J. Callow on October 22, 1949. He preceded her in death on March 11, 2005. Ruth worked many years in the cafeteria at Florence High School. She enjoyed cooking, gardening and was an active member of St. Johns Evangelical Lutheran Church, Florence. Survivors include one son, Rick (Marcia Driscoll) Callow, Highlands Ranch, Colo; one daughter, Donna (Tim) Grossmann, Florence, Wis.; one grandson, Matt Grossmann, Florence, Wis.; and three great-grandchildren, Vicky, Elizabeth and Mark Jr. In addition to her parents and husband, James, Ruth was preceded in death by one grandson, Mark Grossmann. Graveside services will be held Friday, August 14, 2020, 11:00 a.m. at Woodlawn Cemetery, Florence, Wis. Rev. Jason Liebenow will officiate.
