Crystal Falls- Rose Mae Skibo, 100, of Crystal Falls, Mich., passed away Thursday, June 11, 2026, at Aspirus Iron River Hospital.

She was born March 6, 1926, in Iron Mountain, Mich., daughter of the late Peter and Victoria (Bray) Kania. Rose grew up in Mansfield Township.

She married Matthew Skibo on September 1, 1945. He preceded her in death on May 21, 2000.

Survivors include her daughters, Mary Fran Bjork, Crystal Falls, MI, and Karen Ventura, Shoreview, Minn.; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and daughter-in-law, Becky Skibo, Madison, WI.

In addition to her parents and husband, Rose was preceded in death by her son, James Matthew Skibo.

Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m., on Thursday, June 18, 2026, at Jacobs-Plowe Funeral Home, Crystal Falls, MI. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Thursday, at Guardian Angels Catholic Church, Crystal Falls, with Father Dan Dapaah officiating. Burial will take place in Evergreen Cemetery, Crystal Falls, Mich.

In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to Guardian Angels Church or St. Vincent Depaul Food Pantry in Rose Mae’s memory.
