Rose Marie (Moratti/Arneson) Lundell, 76, of Iron Mountain, Michigan, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on August 22, 2012, following her courageous battle with cancer. She left this earthly world surrounded by family, a dear friend, and peaceful singing by her granddaughter. Rose Marie was born June 29, 1936, to August and Marie (Franceschini) Moratti at the Iron Mountain Hospital. She lived with her parents and graduated from Iron Mountain High School with the class of 1954. She ventured into adulthood as a receptionist for the Wisconsin Electric Company in Iron Mountain until she met Harold Arneson. Rose Marie and Harold were united in marriage on August 3, 1957, in Iron Mountain at the Immaculate Conception Church. They began their family with the birth of their oldest daughter, Diane in 1958. Their next daughter, Jean arrived in 1959. Following the birth of their son, Daniel in 1960, Rose Marie and Harold began the next chapter of their life with a move to Clintonville, Wisconsin. Their fourth child, Kathi was born in Clintonville in 1964. She experienced great pleasure and pride as she raised her children and humbly enjoyed being a homemaker. Other pleasurable memories during her years in Clintonville were enjoying coffee and gatherings with many dear friends, visiting family, attending activities for her children, being active in Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts, teaching Sunday School, doing a little bowling, golfing and skiing, along with career experiences working as a secretary for the Clintonville Gas Company and Clintonville High School. She proudly watched her three oldest children graduate from Clintonville High School and venture independently into their futures. Rose Marie moved back to Iron Mountain in 1979 to begin a new chapter of her life as a single mother. Here she enjoyed working for the Labor Union, the Occhietti Dental Office, and for Wittocks UP Electric. She proudly raised her daughter, Kathi, as she graduated from her alma mater, Iron Mountain High School. Here she met and enjoyed great memorable times with her dear friend Darlene Duff; this friendship and others remained dear and strong to her through all her years of life. In 1988 Rose Marie became a proud grandmother twice within months, thus beginning another momentous chapter of her life. On New Year's Eve of 1988 she was united in marriage to Larry Lundell. They began their life together in Coleman, Wisconsin. During these years she shared many loving times and memories with their families and grandchildren, along with coffee with friends, and traveling experiences to Florida and Alaska, in addition to fishing, dancing, and supporting local athletics. Larry and Rose Marie returned to Iron Mountain in 1998. Here they continued to be avid and proud Iron Mountain supporters attending many athletic events and given an honorary award for their dedication. Rose Marie's life was well-lived as a faithful steward of her faith in Christ. She attended faithfully and was active in her church, Immaculate Conception. She was an active member of "Golden K" and loved sharing time through song and activities throughout the community. She also sang in the Community Choir and her church choir. Trips around the lake, watching the 'Ski-ters', and playing a favorite dice game of 'zonk' are memorable highlights. Rose Marie especially enjoyed "talking" as she enjoyed many Thursday morning visits with her breakfast club girls. She will be remembered by her beautiful blue eyes and her smile, in addition to her optimistic ability to always view life positively and love all whom she met. She is survived by one son, Dan (Michelle) Arneson, Clintonville; three daughters, Diane (Gene) Butterfield, Kingsford, Jean (Keith) Smith, Lancaster, Wis., Kathi Beyer, Shawano, Wis.; eleven grandchildren, Miriam, Angela, Zakariah, Skyler, Emily, Gavyn, Gabriella, Kelvyn, MyKenzie, Danielle and Trace; two great-grandchildren, Bentley and Mira; one brother, Shane (Andrea) Moratti; one sister, Marlene Alessandrini; two sisters-in-law, Rose Moratti and Chris Moratti; many nieces, nephews and cousins; Larry Lundell's two daughters, Wendy (Bill) Wilson, and Lori (Dean) Vernon and their families; and many Arneson in-laws and their families. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, August (Gus) and Joe; her brother in-law, Raymond Alessandrini; her first husband and father of her children, Harold Arneson and many in-laws; and Larry Lundell. Grandma Rose's smiles, music, and cookies will be in the hearts and memories of all surviving. Also known as "Auntie Rosie", she will be remembered by many especially her 'pistol-packin' niece Kindra who was by her side every day through her recent challenges physically and emotionally; this special cousin brought Rose Marie some sunshine and a little 'spunk' every day till death do us part. The service will be held 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Rev. Ray Valerio and Rev. Michael March will concelebrate. Burial will be in Cemetery Park, Iron Mountain.
