Crystal Falls – Rose Marie Kozol, 99, of Crystal Falls, MI, passed away on Thursday, July 23, 2026, at the Iron County Medical Care Facility.

She was born on June 6, 1927, in Crystal Falls, MI, to the late John and Mary (Dybas) Kudwa.

Rose was a lifelong resident of Crystal Falls and member of Guardian Angels Catholic Church. She married Louis Kozol on August 22, 1954, he preceded her in death in 1996.

She was a farmer and farm wife for most of her life. Rose worked for a number of years in the kitchen at Iron County Medical Care Facility. She loved to garden, many people remember her pickled beets and pierogies, and she was a self-taught harmonica player. Even in her early eighties, she was still cutting her own firewood.

She is survived by her son, Paul (Deborah) Kozol; grandchildren, Mary Jo Kozol and Ann Marie Kozol; many nieces and nephews; special niece, Kathy Ball; and special friend, Betsy Diegel.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Louis Kozol, and siblings, Eva, Stella, Jennie, Joe, Joann, John, and Louis.

Visitation will be from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m., on Thursday, July 30, 2026, at Jacobs-Plowe Funeral Home, Crystal Falls. Prayers will be recited at 10:30 a.m., at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Thursday at Guardian Angels Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. Daniel Dapaah officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Park.
