Rose "Dee" M. Cameron, 79, of Iron Mountain, passed away Tuesday, September 10, 2013, after a lengthy illness, at her home with her devoted husband of 44 years by her side. She was born January 29, 1934, in Negaunee, Mich., daughter of the late Tony and Georgina (Steede) Certo.
Dee married Keith Cameron on February 1, 1969. They resided in Iron Mountain. While the kids were in school, Dee worked in the cafeteria at St. Mary and St. Joseph Catholic Church. She was an active member of St. Mary and St. Joseph Catholic Church and the adult choir where she sang for many years. Dee was a longtime volunteer of the St. Vincent de Paul Society until her health would not able her to continue.
She is survived by her loving husband of 44 years, Keith; three sons, Marc Stafford, Arlington, Wis., Michael Stafford, Green Bay, Wis., Daniel Stafford, Arlington; one daughter, Toni Marie (Don) Kozlowski, Stephenson, Mich.; one brother, Nino Certo, Ishpeming, Mich.; nine grandchildren, Christine (Jimmy) Jenkins, Benjamin, Eric, Joshua Kozlowski and fiancée (Vicky Johnson), Katelyn (Kyle) Kubacki, Jacob, Bailey, Melissa and Tanya Stafford; four great-grandchildren, James and Max Jenkins, Trevon Stafford and Kameron Kubacki and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Amber Rose Stafford; Keith's parents, Albert and Josephine Quick; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Grace and Ingram (Ingy) Liljestrand, Antonette (Robert) Saxwold and Antonette's second husband, Joseph Prior; brother and sister-in-law Joseph (Nonie) Certo; one sister-in-law, Abbie Certo and two nephews Erv Kuensh and Clyde Certo.
Visitation will be Friday, September 13, 2013, from 3:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. at St. Mary and St. Joseph Catholic Church, Iron Mountain. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, 4:30 p.m. at the church. Rev. Daniel Zaloga will officiate. Burial will be in Cemetery Park, Iron Mountain.
