Ronald L. Wickman, 77, of Norway, Mich., passed away Sunday, February 21, 2010, at the Oscar G. Johnson Veterans Administration Medical Center, Iron Mountain.
He was born July 17, 1932, in Foster City, Mich., son of the late Leonard and Lillian (Thunell) Wickman. Ronald graduated from Felch High School and went on to serve in the United States Army from 1952 until 1953. He married the former Nellie Naiman, she preceded him in death on March 13, 1991.
Ronald married the former Donna Helmer on April 1, 1994, in Iron Mountain; she survives. He worked at Lakeshore for 25 years and also as a Mason. Ronald was well known for his beautiful fireplaces all over the area. He was a member of the Brick Layers and Allied Craftsman Union. Ronald enjoyed spending time in his garage with the guys, and he loved to watch the Cubs.
He is survived by, Donna Wickman; one son, Curtis Wickman, Kingsford; two daughters, Hilda (Ernie) Vivio, Quinnesec, Anna Yauch, Ohio; two step-sons, Steve (Julie) Dobson, Andrews, Ind., Mark (Julie) Dobson, Norway; three step-daughters, Lisa (Rocky) Dobson, Whiteland, Ind., Tracy (Joe) LaBonte, Hermansville, Mich., Rayne (Donald) Cazzola, Vulcan; 15 grandchildren, Eric Vivio, Ed Vivio, Laura (Chris) Carle, Zach Spriggs, Amanda Dobson, Ashley Dobson, Erica LaBonte, Casey LaBonte, Ashleigh LaBonte, Mark Dobson, Luke Dobson, Makayla St. Cyr, his caregiver and sunshine of his life, Joey Cazzola, Marty Edgar, April Edgar; two great-grandchildren, Skylar and Brianna; one brother, Allen (Ginny) Wickman, Downers Grove, Ill.; one sister, Lola Hallenbeck, Kingsford; two uncles, Ernest (Evelyn) Thunell, Quinnesec, Ejnar Thunell, Kingsford; many nieces and nephews.
Ronald was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Ashley Edgar; and one brother, Ken Wickman.

Private family services were held. A graveside service will be held in the spring. Burial will be in Breitung Township Cemetery, Quinnesec.
