Obituary

Ronald D. Lang, 69, of Amasa, passed away Thursday, May 23, 2013, at his home. He was born September 15, 1943, in Stambaugh, Mich., son of Enola (Pagel) Lang and the late Allan Lang. Ron grew up in Amasa and graduated from Amasa High School. Ron served in the United States Navy from 1962 until he was honorably discharged in 1968. Ronald married Sandra Mae Honkala at Bethany Lutheran Church in Amasa. She preceded him in death on June 23, 2005. He worked as a logger for many years along with his family. Ron later went to work for Waste Management retiring after 10 years. He enjoyed many hobbies, including hunting, fishing, trapping, being outdoors and especially spending time with his family and friends. Ron is survived by one son Scot Lang, Crystal Falls; two daughters, Cindy Olson, Kingsford, Laura Brin, Crystal Falls; his mother, Enola Lang, Amasa; one brother, LeRoy Lang, Amasa; two sisters, Beverly (Frank) Dallafior, Amasa, Elaine (Jerry) Ketola, Green Bay; five grandchildren, Quintin (Megan) Olson, Chelsey (Aaryn) Swanson, Amanda Brin, Ethan Lang, Carly Lang; one great-granddaughter, Lydia Olson. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sandra, and his father, Allan. The visitation will be Friday, May 31, 2013, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Jacobs-Plowe Funeral Home Crystal Falls. The East Side Veterans Council will conduct a Pass-In-Review 12:30 p.m., Friday at the funeral home. Following the Veterans service, burial will take place in Hematite Township Cemetery, Amasa.
