Ronald Roy Johnson, age 67, of Beach Park, Ill., and formerly of Iron River, Mich., died Tuesday, August 22, 2006, at the Vista Medical Center East, Waukegan, Ill. He was born March 31, 1939, in Iron River. On September 25, 1965, he married Delores Schultz at St. Cecilia Catholic Church, Caspian, Mich. She preceded him in death in 1999. Ron graduated from Stambaugh High School, Class of 1958, Stambaugh, Mich. He was employed by International Harvester/Dresser/Komatsu in Libertyville, Ill. from 1964 - 1991 and retired from R. Lavin and Sons of North Chicago in 1999. Ron was an active member of Our Lady of Humility Catholic Church, Beach Park, Ill, was an avid golfer at Shilow Park District Golf Course in Zion, Ill., and was a loving father and doting grandfather. Survivors include, two sons, Patrick Roy (Erika) Johnson, Palatine, Ill., Michael Roy (Jennifer) Johnson, Lake Villa, Ill.; three grandchildren, Jamie Nicole Kennedy, Kendall Delores Johnson, Elizabeth Suzanne Johnson; three sisters, Joanne (Emil) Nathans, Waukegan, Sandy (Bud) Hermanson, Iron River, Carol (Sam) Castillo, Zion; six sisters-in-law, Clarice Gagnea, Valparaiso, Ind., Elvina "Bootsie" (Donald) Toti, Marquette, Mich., Betty Lou McArthur, Crystal Falls, Mich., Mary Lee (Jim) Baldwin, Iron Mountain, Mich., Bonnie (John) Baldwin, Iron River, Cecelia (Murray) Lance, Virginia Beach, Va.; two brothers-in-law, Irvin A. (Shelia) Schultz, Palatine, Michael (Sonia) Schultz, Atlanta Ga., numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Delores Johnson; brothers Rubert and Walter Johnson, sisters, Laura Johnson Koski and Eleanor Johnson Lundquist. The funeral mass will be celebrated 10:00 a.m., Saturday, August 26, 2006, at Our Lady of Humility Catholic Church, 10655 W. Wadsworth Rd., Beach Park, Ill. Visitation will be 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. Friday at the Congdon Funeral Home, 3012 Sheridan Rd., Zion, Ill. Interment will be 11:00 a.m., Sunday, August 27, 2006, at the Stambaugh Cemetery, Iron River, Mich.
