Iron Mountain: Ronald D. Flashberger, age 70, of Iron Mountain passed away Monday, May 23, 2005, at Marquette General Hospital in Marquette, MI. He was born in Iron River, on January 6, 1935, the son of the late George and Julie (Peschel) Flashberger. He grew up in Iron River and attended school there. He joined the US Army and was stationed in England during the Korean War. On May 29, 1965, he married Rose Kasper in Milwaukee, WI, and they resided in Milwaukee County. Ronald worked for Pabst Brewing Company and was a union steward for ten years. They moved to Iron Mountain in March of this year. He was a member of the UAW. Some of his hobbies were hunting and fishing. Ronald will be deeply missed by his dog "Taffy Girl". Survivors include his wife Rose, three aunts; Rose Vrana of Greendale, WI, Alice Ball and son Robert of California, and Cecile Colberg of Iron River, MI, several cousins; Kenny and Carol Flashberger, Bonnie and Ronnie Gehloff of Lower Michigan, and Janet and Chet Stanchiana of California, a sister-in-law Sandy Kasper of Milwaukee, a brother-in-law Kenny (Arlene) Chabot of Oak Creek, WI, and an aunt Irene Morawski of Cudahy, WI. He also had two special and dear friends they were Eleanor Flynn of Iron Mountain and Ray Nelson of Granite Bluff whose help was greatly appreciated. Besides his parents, Ronald was preceded in death by a brother-in-law Henry Kasper. Visitation will be Wednesday, June 1, 2005, from 2:30-3:00p.m. at the Jacobs Funeral Home in Iron Mountain. A Memorial Service will be held at 3:00p.m. at the funeral home. Fr. Dan Zaloga will officiate. Burial will be in Stambaugh Cemetery.
