Crystal Falls – Ronald "Ron" W. Dennis, 90, of Crystal Falls, MI, passed away on Wednesday, January 8, 2026, at Marshfield Medical Center, Iron Mountain, MI.

He was born on July 19, 1935, in Chicago, Ill, to the late Arthur R., Sr. and Irene E. (King) Dennis. Having been born in Chicago, Ron spent his entire life in that area.

His family remembers him as a strong hardworking man who could fix just about anything. His working life was spent repairing anything and everything in the office/plant at HB Fuller.

He was a Specialist in the United States Army stationed in Europe, where he worked as a mechanic in the motor pool. After returning home from Europe, he married the love of his life, Joan Jaeger. Together for sixty years, he and Joan built a wonderful life for themselves and their six children.

One of Ron's favorite leisure activities was fishing. As a young lad, he learned to fish, which carried over into his adult life. He often took the family on fishing vacations. The best fishing stories told by Ron involved pulling his children out of the lake. The same as when he was raising his children, he had much patience, which often rewarded him with a prize catch.

Gardening was another of Ron's hobbies and he used the organizational skills he learned in the Army to teach his children to be more self-sufficient. Each of us learned to value the lessons he taught us long after all the weeds had been pulled.

Later in life, he became a master woodworker, creating beautiful and functional pieces of art. Just like anything else Ron did, he was all in and it had to be done right!

He will be greatly missed by his wife and family.

Ron is survived by his wife, Joan Dennis; children, Philip (Lucimar) Wortman, Daniel (Karen) Wortman, Patricia (Daniel) Walkowicz, Sharon (Glenn) Donaldson, and Ronald (Diana) Dennis, II; thirteen grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces, and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Marie Hosteland; son-in-law, Paul Hosteland; brothers, Arthur R. Dennis, Jr., and Raymal V. Dennis; and nephew, Raymal W. Dennis.
