Ronald B. "Crut", "Bubba" Barrette, 72, of Marinette, Wis. passed away Thursday, February 26, 2009, at the Oscar G. Johnson V.A. Medical Center in Iron Mountain, Mich.
He was born November 2, 1936, son of the late Harold and Lorena (Schwerzler) Barrette. Ron spent most of his life in Marinette. He served his country in the Marine Corps during the Korean War. After the service, Ron worked for a variety of construction companies.
Ron was a golden glove boxer in his youth. He enjoyed socializing, and especially spending time with his family and friends. Ron had a great sense of humor and always had a way of making people laugh – his humor will never be forgotten.
Whenever you saw Ron, you could be sure that he was happily singing a tune. He was also well known for giving nicknames to people he would meet.
Ron is survived by three daughters, Rhonda (Steve) Fifarek, Marinette; Cheryl (Ron) Radloff, Green Bay, Wis.; Carla Scholtz, Marinette; two brothers, Bob (Carol) Barrette, Menominee, Mich.; George (CJ) Barrette, Peshtigo, Wis.; one sister Nancy Haines, Marinette; seven grandchildren, Terry and Brandon Smejkal, Bridget and Brad Zuraski, Charlie, Tony and Tricia Scholtz; and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded by, one son, Ronald Benedict Barrette, Jr.; one brother, Harold Barrette, Jr.; and one sister, Virginia Thyne.
