Obituary

Quinnesec -With the open road in his soul, Roger Scott Deau crossed over at his home in Quinnesec, Mich., on Saturday, January 31, 2026.

Scott was born in Kingsford, Mich., on April 8, 1960, to Judy A, (Kirk) Berg and Roger A. Deau.

He will be remembered as a true perfectionist in all he did, a reliable and steady presence, and someone who could always be counted on without hesitation. Although he carried himself with pride and the strength of a provider, those closest to him knew he was a big teddy bear at heart and always willing to lend a hand. Helping others wasn't something he did occasionally; it was simply who he was.

Scott was a founding member of the LONGRIDERS MOTORCYCLE Club, becoming family with them in 1992 as his greatest passion in life was riding his Harley. He lived for the open road, the rumble of his pipes, and the freedom that came with it.

Scott was a devoted NASCAR fan, especially cheering on Jeff Gordon. Racing ran deep in his story, as he proudly raced street stock #8 at the Norway Speedway. His trophies are still proudly displayed. Whether at the track, out at camp, hunting in the woods, or cutting and stacking wood to keep his sheds full, Scott truly found peace in staying busy.

Music was another joy in his life. Scott had a deep appreciation for the sound and soul of Johnny Cash and Bob Segar. Whether it was playing cribbage or hanging out in his lounge, Scott was sure to sing along with the tune.

He leaves behind his family, Michael, Kimberly (Justin), and Rae; beloved grandchildren, Abagale (Shelby), Kayden, Angeliah, Raevyn, Kylo, and Nova. He planted love in many hearts, especially his siblings, Dan (Sal), Mike, Rusty, and Cindy; parents, Bill and Norma; and many special nieces and nephews. His life touched many, and his memory will be treasured by his special partner, Michelle.

Scott is now at rest with the loved ones who've passed before him: his son, Gregory; brother, Jimmy; and parents Judy and Roger.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, February 12, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at the LONGRIDERS CLUBHOUSE, 772 Boyle Drive, Kingsford, Mich. A service will take place at 6:00 p.m., followed by a celebration of Scott's life. Cards may be sent to PO Box 102, Quinnesec, MI 49876
