Obituary

Iron Mountain- Rockford B. Ritchie, 70, of Goodman, Wis., passed away Thursday, April 30, 2020 at St. Vincent Hospital, Green Bay, Wis. He was born July 4, 1949, in Stambaugh, Mich., son of the late Evert C. and Edwina (Martin) Ritchie. Rockford married Sawnie Bagley on November 17, 1972 in Jackson, Wyoming. While residing in Wyoming, he worked in the woods as well as doing many different handyman jobs. Along with his wife they moved to Goodman, Wisconsin in 1977. Rockford worked for the Goodman Mill for 17 years as well as a logger during that time period and beyond. He along with his wife started delivering the Advertiser newspaper in 2012 and continue to do so. Rockford was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, Pembine, Wis. He enjoyed hunting deer and partridge, going to camp, fishing, going out to eat and visiting, and especially the time spent with family and friends. Survivors include his loving wife of 47 years, Sawnie Ritchie; one son, Travis (Debi) Ritchie, Bakersville, North Carolina; one daughter, Tata Luellen, Oak Creek, Wisconsin; five brothers, James (Idalis) Ritchie, Long Lake, Wisconsin, Michael (Lauyana) Ritchie, Wabeno, Wisconsin, Mark (Barbara) Ritchie, Blackwell, Wisconsin, Brian (Kim) Ritchie, Long Lake, Wisconsin and Jonathan (Lia) Ritchie, Long Lake, Wiconsin; two sisters, Wanda (Dennis) Schwind, Wauseon, Ohio and Loretta (Roger) Montambo, Stambaugh, Michigan; and by three grandchildren, Connor Ritchie, Beau Millan and Brett Millan. In addition to his parents, Rockford was preceded in death by one sister, Christine Barker. In accordance with Rockford's wishes, a private family committal service will be held.
