Iron Mountain:
Robert L. Tutas, age 71, formerly of 401 East D Street, Iron Mountain, Michigan, died Saturday, May 31, 2003, at Mather Nursing Center in Ishpeming, Michigan.
Robert was born in Niagara, Wisconsin, on April 4, 1932, son of the late Arthur and Harriet (Phillips) Tutas.
He attended Niagara High School and graduated from there. He then moved to Chicago and worked in the banking industry. He then joined the US Navy and served for ten years before retiring. He then entered College and was
ordained as a Lutheran Minister. He served as a Lutheran Minister for twenty years, mostly in North Carolina. He retired in Florida in the seventies. He moved back to Iron Mountain in 1998. He was always there to lend a helping hand. He was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Niagara.
Robert is survived by four sons Gregory (Denise) Tutas of North Carolina, Bryant (Billie) Tutas, Kevin Tutas, and Kinn Tutas all of Florida, four brothers George (Fern) Tutas of Kingsford, Walter Tutas of Niagara, Arthur (Barbara) Tutas of Grand Rapids, Michigan, and Lawrence (Mary Anna) Tutas of South Carolina, one sister Judith Thompson of Kingsford, four grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Besides his parents, Robert was preceded in death by one sister Mary Ann Peterson and a close friend Harry Vnsel.
There will be private visitation and services. Burial will be in Niagara Cemetery.
