Robert Angle Reed, 90, of Florence, Wis. and Venice, Fla., died Monday, October 13, 2008, at his home at Shadow Lake, surrounded by his family.
He was born October 19, 1917, in Lincoln, Nebraska son of the late Guy and Florence (Angle) Reed. Bob was raised in Wilmette, Ill and graduated from New Trier High School. He went on to attend the University of Wisconsin at Madison, School of Agriculture, graduating in 1940. Bob married Jeanne Potter in July, 1942. She preceded him in death.
Bob enjoyed the land he farmed in the Portage/Baraboo area as well as in Florence, before he retired. He was an extremely active outdoorsman, enjoying trout fishing, hunting, golf, and tennis. Cutter Bob continued to play tennis right up to six months prior to his death. He also enjoyed bridge, country music, and dancing. He had many special friends. Bob was an active member of Elks and Eagles in Florida and a former member of Pine Grove Country Club.
He is survived by his daughter, Karen (James) Schultheis; son, Howard (Cheryl) Reed; seven grandchildren, Brad, Ahren, Judy, and Kay Schultheis, Kristen and Ryan Reed, Ashley Pipp; four great-grandchildren, Danielle, Molly, Nathan, Addison; and one sister, Barbara Reed Turner.
Bob enjoyed working with his hands, wood and birchbark crafts, carving, and stonework.

The family plans a celebration of Bob's life in the summer of 2009 for friends at Shadow Lake by the woods and waters that he loved.
