Florence- Robert Ray Paul, 78, of Spread Eagle, Wisc., passed away Monday, August 17, 2026, at St. Vincent Hospital, Green Bay, Wisc.
He was born July 18, 1948, in Stambaugh, Mich., son of the late Charles and Shirely (Jonaus) Paul. Robert grew up in Caspian and graduated from Stambaugh High School. Robert proudly served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He continued to serve in the United States National Guard and Reserves for many years. After his honorable discharge, he attended Michigan Tech University, where he earned his degree in Civil Engineering.
Robert worked as a construction estimator for many years, working throughout Wisconsin and Michigan. In his younger years, he participated in many marathons. Robert enjoyed kayaking and listening to country music and Jimmy Buffett.
He is survived by one son, James Paul, Marinette, Wisc.; two daughters, Janet [Paul] Smith, Huntsville, Alabama and Jessica [Paul] Meyers, De Pere, Wisc.; two brothers, Charles (Peggy) Paul, Marquette, Mich., and James Paul, Caspian, Mich.; two grandchildren, Trenton Meyers, Green Bay, Wisc., and Levi Smith, Alabama; and by a sister-in-law, Jill Paul, Lower Michigan.
In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by one brother, John Paul.
Visitation will be Friday, August 21, 2026, from 12:00 noon until 1:30 p.m. at the Jacobs Funeral Home, Iron Mountain, Mich. Prayers will be recited at 1:30 p.m. at the funeral home. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held 2:00 p.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Iron Mountain, Mich. Rev. Fr. Michael Chenier will officiate. Burial in Stambaugh Cemetery will take place on Monday, August 24, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. The Westside Veterans Council will accord Military Honors, 2:00 p.m. at the cemetery.
