Robert James "Bob" Morin, 86, of Cudahy, Wis., formerly of Iron Mountain, Mich., passed away Saturday, January 24, 2009, at Columbia St. Mary's Hospital, Milwaukee, Wis.
He was born July 20, 1922, in Petoskey, Mich., son of the late William and Ann (Mulvogue) Morin. Bob grew up in St. Ignace, Mich. He attended Alma College and Michigan State University where is studied business. Bob served in the United States Navy during World War II, from 1941 to 1944.
Bob married the former Mary Therese McHugh on January 23, 1954, in Hollywood, Fla. He worked in road construction all of his life, in St. Ignace, and Hancock, Mich., before moving to Iron Mountain in 1966. Bob lived in Iron Mountain for over 40 years. He was a controller for Bacco Construction Co. until his retirement in 1984.
He belonged to Pine Grove Country Club for several years and managed it briefly in the early 1990's. Bob loved the outdoors, he was an avid golfer, hunter, and fisherman. He played jazz saxophone throughout his life, playing around the Upper Peninsula. Bob was a member of the American Legion, St. Ignace, Golden K, and played in their band. He was also a member of the St. Mary and St. Joseph Catholic Church choir for many years.
Bob is survived by his wife, Mary; one son, Bob (Wendy) Morin; three daughters, Peg Morin, Stockton, Calif., Judy (Brian) McDonough, Kathy Morin , both of Cudahy; one sister, Pat (Vernor) Smith, St. Johns, Mich.; five grandchildren, Liam, Riley, and Bridget McDonough, Blase and Trent Morin; numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary; two brothers, William, Willard; and one sister, Shirley Krupp.

Visitation will be Thursday, January 29, 2009, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Jacobs Funeral Home, Iron Mountain. The American Legion Post No. 50, Iron Mountain, will accord military honors Thursday, 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Prayers will be offered Friday, January 30, 2009, 9:30 a.m. at the funeral home. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary and St. Joseph Catholic Church, Iron Mountain. Fr. Daniel Zaloga will officiate. Burial will be in Cemetery Park, Iron Mountain.
