Obituary

Iron Mountain: Robert Massicotte , age 84, of Aurora, Wisconsin, passed away February 9, 2005, at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Iron Mountain. Robert was born August 10, 1920, in Iron Mountain, the son of the late Amos and Aldea (Trottier) Massicotte. He attended Iron Mountain schools and graduated from Iron Mountain High School in 1939. He married Dorothy Nault on October 12, 1946, in Iron Mountain. She preceded him in death April 8, 2004. They lived in Iron Mountain from 1946 to 1961 when they moved to Aurora. Robert was in the US Navy and served on the U.S.S. Maryland in the Pacific during World War II. He was a life member of the VFW, DAV and American Battleship Association. Every year since 1975, Robert had been attending every U.S.S. Maryland reunion that had been held. Some of his hobbies were woodworking, model making , and riding on his boat. Survivors include one brother Archie Massicotte of Illinois and many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents and wife Dorothy, Robert was preceded in death by a sister Evonne Thompson and two brothers Richard Massicotte and Leo Massicotte. Visitation will be Saturday, February 12, 2005, from 10-11:30a.m. at the Jacobs Funeral Home in Iron Mountain. Disabled American Veterans services will be Saturday at 11:15. Funeral services will be Saturday at 11:30a.m. at Jacobs Funeral Home in Iron Mountain. Celebrant Robert Fuse will be officiating. Burial will be in Cemetery Park.
