Obituary

Florence: Robert Lundholm, age 80, of Spread Eagle, WI, died Tuesday, June 29, 2004, at the Florence Villa Nursing Home in Florence. He was born June 24, 1924, in Chicago, Illinois, son of the late Rudolph and Inga (Olsen) Lundholm Sr. In February of 1943, he joined the US Army and served during World War II in the medical corp. division. He was a prisoner of war during the Battle of the Bulge. He married Rose Chrest on December 9, 1943, in Ypsilanti, Michigan. Robert did his apprenticeship at Asp Funeral Home and Erickson Funeral Home, prior to attending Wayne State University School of Mortuary Science. After receiving his certificate he came back to the Erickson Funeral Home in Iron Mountain and completed his apprenticeship and was employed there until 1965. In 1965, he moved to Florence, Wisconsin, and purchased the Weir Funeral Home and renamed it Lundholm Funeral Chapel. He operated the Lundholm Funeral Chapel until his retirement in 1984. He was a member of the Hiram D. Fisher Lodge of Florence. Robert had many hobbies including golfing, fishing, hunting and keeping his yard well groomed. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Rose, one son Larry (Patricia) Lundholm of Spread Eagle, one sister Pauline (Jack) Bishop of Endeavor, Wisconsin and many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents Robert was preceded in death by one brother Rudolph Jr. Private family visitation and funeral services will be held. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Florence, Wisconsin. Celebrant Robert Fuse will officiate.
