Illinois- Robert M. Kimlicka, of Elmwood Park, Ill., passed away peacefully on July 19, 2025, at Aspirus Hospital, Iron River, Mich.

He was born February 16, 1935, son of the late Frank and Angeline (Leszczynski) Kimlicka. Robert attended Annunciation Grammar School and then graduated from Holy Trinity High School, class of 1953. He was united in marriage to Alice Drygalski on April 27, 1957. They were together always until her passing on April 1, 2023.

Robert worked for several companies in various quality control positions. He worked for Chicago Rawhide in Chicago, Resinoid Engineering in Skokie, and Henry Valve in Melrose Park until his retirement in 1990.

Robert was an avid collector of stamps and coins. He also enjoyed bowling, fishing, puzzles, and going to the casino. He returned yearly to Crystal Falls, Mich., to enjoy fishing, visiting Northwood Casinos, and simply being outdoors.

Robert was a devoted and supportive father of three children; Robert (Debra) Kimlicka of Crystal Falls, Mich., Deborah Scarpelli of Appleton, Wisc., and Ronald (Phyllis) Kimlicka of Belvidere, Ill.; also to his grandchildren, Anna (James) Trocki and Steven (Katy) Kimlicka, both of Illinois, Gianna (Louis) Heikkinen of Wisconsin, Nicholas (Kylie) Scarpelli of Texas, and Joseph Kimlicka, Jake (Alyssa) Kimlicka and Jenna Kimlicka, all of Illinois. Robert is further survived by 14 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to his parents and wife, Alice, Robert was preceded in death by his brother, Donald, and a son-in-law, Michael Scarpelli.

Visitation will be 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Saturday September 13, 2025 at Jacobs-Plowe Funeral Home Crystal Falls, Mich. A Memorial service will follow at 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
