Florence: Robert D. Greeley, age 81 of Florence, Wisconsin died Monday September 16, 2002 at the Florence Villa Nursing Home in Florence.
Robert was born on June 17, 1921 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, son of the late James and Emily (Harrington) Greeley.
Robert was raised in Milwaukee and graduated from Shorewood High school. He then went on to attend Marquette University were he received a degree in business. Robert served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He received an honorable discharged from the service in 1946. Robert married Jeraldine Crowley on November 12, 1949 in Milwaukee. Robert was an executive for Consolidated Papers Corporation, retiring in 1988. They resided in Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin until moving to Florence on March 1, 2001.
Robert was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of Florence, Wisconsin and past Secretary for the Milwaukee Rotary Club. In his free time Robert enjoyed golfing, and watching hockey and football, especially the Green Bay Packers.
Robert is survived by his loving wife of over 52 years Jeraldine (Crowley) Greeley. His four children Kathleen (Bert) Kinyon of Newark, CA., Susan (Brad) Yocum of Howards Grove and Florence, Wisconsin, Jay (Bonnie) Greeley of Leesburg, VA., and Mary (Jim) Klingforth of Eagle River and Three Lakes, Wisconsin. Nine grandchildren LindaSue and Brent Thompson, Regina and Teresa Yocum, Jay Robert Jr., John Carl, and Eric James Greeley, Robert Edgar and Shawn Michael Klingforth. Four great grandchildren Khalil, Breanna, Khaleb, and Brycole. Also many nieces, nephews, and loving friends.
He was preceded in death by one brother James Z. Greeley.
Friends may call Friday September 20, 2002 from 2-3PM at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 308 Florence Ave. Florence, WI 54121. The Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday September 20, 2002 3PM at the church. Fr. Michael Betley will officiate.
In lieu of flowers a memorial will be established to St. Marys Catholic Church in Robert's memory.
The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the staff of the Florence Villa Nursing Home for the loving care and attention Robert received during his stay with them.
