Robert J. Dupuis Sr. passed into the arms of the Lord on July 18, 2010, surrounded by his family.
He was born August 29, 1926, in Niagara, Wis., son of the late Alfred and Marie (Chamberlain) Dupuis. At an early age, Bob was playing guitars, singing, drawing caricatures, making model airplanes and learning to fly (age 14).
Bob flew his plane up until three years ago doing barrel rolls, nose dives, spins, and other aero delights for family/friends. He helped with air search and CAP/youths. Bob was a member of several pilot groups including Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association.
At the end of WWII, Bob was asked to be Marine security and witness the peace signing between the United States president and Japanese prime minister aboard the USS Missouri at Tokyo Bay. He fought in Saipan, China and S Pacific Marine Corps 1st & 6th divisions.
The Milwaukee Braves asked Bob to audition as pitcher, he declined to be with family. Bob did not pursue a commercial pilots license as he liked to do things his way. Bob was a true outdoors-man fly fishing, hunting, enjoying all creatures and the beauty of nature. Many would like to achieve his bowling skills.
Nearly 63 years ago, Bob laid eyes upon Geraldine Senecal. They have been apart only a few days. Before passing he gave a special wink to Gerry. They began marriage on November 29, 1947.
Bob is survived by his wife, Gerry; their children, Sunni, Kristine, Bob Jr., Donna (Gene) Leslie, and Dan; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant brother; an infant daughter; and a grandson.
A private family memorial will be held. Announcement will be made for a public gathering.
