Robert J. Aberly, 66, of Crystal Falls, passed away Saturday, April 7, 2012, at Marquette Health System, Marquette, Mich. He was born November 3, 1945, in Crystal Falls, son of the late Joyce Ann Paffrath. Robert grew up in Crystal Falls and attended school there. While living in Crystal Falls, he worked as a logger with Carl Nelson. He attended Guardian Angels Catholic Church. Robert was a handyman who could do anything and could often be found cutting grass and shoveling snow. He loved football, basketball, and was a huge Trojan fan, and could be found at most local sporting events. Robert also enjoyed bowling. He is survived by six brothers, Russell Aberly, Houston, Tex., Harry (Lynda) Schippers, III., Gleason, Tenn., William (Nancy) Schippers, Tomah, Wis., David Schippers, Antioch, Ill., John Schippers, Paul Schippers, both of Smyrna, Ga.; one sister, Mary Schippers, Marietta, Ga.; two aunts, Gail (Wesley) Heikkinen, Green River, Wyo., Joann Hebert, Belvidere, Ill.; two uncles, Tom (Judy) Aberly, Thornton, Colo., Gary (Nancy) Aberly, Anchorage, Alaska; good friends, Jacque "Frenchy" and Pat Terrauct, Ingleside, Ill., Chris and Mickey Kukura, Crystal Falls, Edna and Edward Heikkinen, Crystal Falls, Helen Arcand, Crystal Falls, Cully and Marie Paulsen, Crystal Falls, and David Heikkinen, Crystal Falls. Private graveside services will be held. Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery, Crystal Falls.
