Obituary

Rita A. Durow, 76, of Niagara, passed away Saturday, September 12, 2009, at Dickinson County Memorial Hospital. She was born May 8, 1933, in Niagara, daughter of the late Edward and Anna (Pleshek) Durow. Rita was a lifelong resident of Niagara, a lifetime member of St. Anthony Catholic Church, and was also a member of the St. Anthony Council of Catholic Women. She was very devoted to her church. Rita enjoyed knitting, crocheting, puzzles, and was an avid Packers fan. She is survived by three sisters, Ruth Clifford, Neenah, Wis., Helen (Larry) Breidinger, Alma, Mich., and Joyce Tretheway, Redding, Calif. Rita was preceded in death by two brothers, Orville Phillips, Harvey Phillips; and two sisters, Harriet Tutas, Dolly Kippert. Rita's family would like to extend a special thank you to Tara Betts and Chris Lind, her caregivers, for their care and compassion. Visitation will be Wednesday, September 16, 2009, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Niagara. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday 11:00 a.m., at the church. Rev. Matt Settle will officiate. Burial will be in Niagara Cemetery.
